A resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina since 1983, Jennifer McQueen Ash graduated from Northwestern High School before leaving York County to attend college at Davidson College in North Carolina and Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
After earning her undergraduate degree, Jennifer worked as a Child Support Specialist II for the South Carolina Department of Social Services Child Support Enforcement Region II in Columbia, South Carolina. Her duties included establishing and enforcing child support orders. After serving the State for over two years, she applied to the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she received her juris doctorate in 1998. While a student with the School of Law, Jennifer served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Richland County for which she received recognition as Outstanding Law School Volunteer Guardian ad Litem. In addition, she clerked for the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office for two years. She was active in the International Law Society, Women in Law, and Phi Alpha Delta societies.
Following her admission to the South Carolina Bar, Jennifer chose to accept a commission in the United States Marine Corps. She served as a judge advocate from 1998 until 2006, when she resigned her commission and entered private practice. As a judge advocate, Jennifer held roles as environmental attorney (MCB Camp Pendleton); water counsel with the Office of General Counsel's Western Area Counsel Office (MCB Camp Pendleton); prosecutor (MCAS Cherry Point); and Senior Defense Counsel (MCAS Cherry Point).
After her release from active duty, Jennifer brought her own family home to the York County area where her parents and siblings still reside. In keeping with her solid sense of community and obligation to serve others, Jennifer is active with the Junior Welfare League, sits on the School Improvement Council for her children's school, and is a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Practicing in the areas of marital litigation and family-based immigration law, Jennifer's diverse experiences in litigation have allowed her to develop a level of skill and comfort that transfers readily from the conference room to the courtroom.
